Get ready to be Wu’d.
Last night was the New York launch party for the Jason Wu for Target collaboration, and the stars (including Blake Lively, Jamie King, and Chloe Moretz) were out and about to support the designer. Some obviously donned the collection themselves and looked super lady-like, fresh and playful.
Dropping Feb. 5, Wu offers signature feminine touches like lots of pleating, bows and modest necklines. Having recently ventured into the area of accessories, the Target collection also features ten different handbags.
Personally, I really like the collection. The images above are the pieces I like most and would actually wear. What I’ve found with other designer collaborations with mainstream brands, is that I usually gravitate towards the accessories more so than the actual clothing. However, this time, I’m gravitating towards the clothes over the accessories! There has only been one or two collaborations that I’ve truly swooned over - Matthew Williamson for H&M had some awesome prints for his capsule collection, Valli for Macy’s had one or two dresses I liked, and Missoni for Target came up with some great pieces, but otherwise, I haven’t really been moved by any other partnerships.
Anyway, with prices starting from $19.99 up to $59.99, no doubt pieces will *fly* off the shelves, so set those alarm clocks nice and early so as not to miss this event. Good luck!
