Photos from Elie Saab’s S/S/2012 Couture Collection are out!

Personally, I think a lot of the silhouettes are reminiscent of his Fall collection. Still lots of beading, lots of sheer layers, and your pick of slim, column gowns. The colours, however, were your typical sweet and pastel Spring colours. While Saab is known for his dramatic floor length gowns, I was happy to see a fair number of pretty knee-length dresses.

Haute Couture for me doesn’t naturally mean long, formal gowns. I like the dainty, feminine suits and shorter hemlined dresses that evoke lady-like propriety that aren’t so “in your face” glam. Personally speaking, that’s where the reality of Haute Couture lies for me.
