Carey Mulligan, W’s January 2012 issue cover girl, has quickly become one of my favourite actresses. I love the diversity of the roles she plays and the subtle nuances she inserts into each role.

In terms of her fashion choices, she’s been a red carpet knockout for me. (Can we just discuss the Peter Pilotto frock she rocked for her Craig Ferguson appearance??) I love that she (or whoever her stylist is) chooses a range of designers to showcase, including: Erdem, Chanel, Prabal Gurung, Bottega Veneta, and Christopher Kane. Usually light on the accessories, her hair, makeup and signature coquettish smile, more than make up for it, in my humble opinion.

My only qualm is that I wish she’d play around more with the length of her outfits. It’d be a shame for her to fall into the same trap as Renée Zellweger, in terms of always defaulting to the knee-length.
